Seven & Nutella heaven

In my first 2015 post, this article about Nutella donuts was featured.

I confess I am a traditionalist when it comes to my HCBs. My preference is fruit. It's not that I don't like variations, or franken-buns as they are sometimes called. I especially like when they have ingredients I adore, like chocolate, icecream or nutella.

So, when if found myself relatively close to a Brumby's store, I had to pick up one and try it out.

As an individual

Now, please don't get me wrong. I am all for mixing things up a bit. But I am kinda against marketing a plain white bun as a hot cross bun when there is nothing that is similar to a hot cross bun except the cross. This tastes nice. Nutella will pretty much guarantee anything to taste nice. But the bun itself is very tasteless. It totally needs the Nutella! And, it's kinda of an ugly bun. Would of been great if they could inject it like Beard Papa's cream puffs instead of having the big hole in the middle.

But back to the business....

HCB review #7 2015

Brumby's HCB cost about $1.85 each but I think its $7 for 6; 1/5

Don't bother with this bun. It looks half cooked, taste half cooked and is hard to get (where are Brumby stores anyways?) It's probably the white bun from the nutella set WITHOUT the nutella! Not much fruit or flavour. You would have to be pretty desperate to buy this bun ie. when you can't get them anywhere else at Easter. They are soft though.
